World Math Day 2010
A world record was set on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, and students from Christ the Divine Teacher School were a part of it. It was WORLD MATHS DAY 2010. The Guinness Book of World Records set a challenge to see if more than 1 million students could help unite the world in numbers within the 48 hours of the event which has been held annually since 2007. That record has been set (needs to be verified) – 1,133,246 students participated in the World Math Day 48 hour event. World Math Day is the largest online math competition! Another goal was to break the record of correct answers given in the 2009 event – 452, 681,681. The official Mathometer on the site says that a total of 479,732,613 questions were answered in the 48 hour 2010 event. That is almost 500 million questions answered in a 48 hour period, so the record was broken! During our event, students competed on-line with students from countries around the world – Singapore, Korea, Germany, Luxembourg, Egypt, Qatar, Canada, Japan, Bermuda, Thailand, and many others from the 56,082 schools in 235 registered countries. Christ the Divine Teacher School helped to unite students and teachers around the globe in the world of numbers!!
