What is Parent Share Day?
The Kindergarten program has incorporated into our
curriculum a special
day to celebrate with our parents every
month. Parent Share Day invites the children’s parents to come into our school for an afternoon and participate in different art activities that go with the theme of the month. In our Social Studies and Science themes, we travel around the world and learn about different countries’ cultures and their customs. We also remain in the United States to learn about different animals and people that have touched our lives. Some examples are: we journey to Germany and create castles; we also create Native American items to wear in school before Thanksgiving. We will also journey to the countries of China, Australia, the Arctic and Antarctic, and Mexico. To touch on the Science theme, we learn about our large animals that once walked the earth - the dinosaurs. We conclude every Parent Share Day with a snack that is associated with the topic that we were learning about.
