Invention Convention
The fourth and fifth grade Science curriculum is enhanced by having the students participate in
our annual Invention Convention.
The students are challenged to put on their "thinking caps", and become young inventors who
develop a new tool, toy, or musical instrument into a workable product. Their ideas are transformed
into blueprints, materials are collected, and construction follows.
At the end of an eight week period, the students present their individual invention
to their fellow classmates, and field any and all questions dealing with the design a
nd construction of their invention.
The final step in the process is the actual Invention Convention, where family and friends
are given the opportunity to view the creative talents of these fourth and fifth graders
